Late Summer Gathering
August 22-24, 2025

The Milwaukee Light Engineering Society would like to invite fellow hobbyists and their families to a weekend of sharing ideas, and running trains at Railroad Park. Friends of the live steam hobby are welcome to attend.
THIS EVENT IS NOT OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC FOR TRAIN RIDES.

Saturday, August 23, 2025 9a-9p
Sunday, August 24, 2025 9a-4p

There is no cost to attend the event, however we do ask that you register once at Railroad Park.

Train Operations (All Railroad Activity)
· Any person under age 16 engineering a train needs to be supervised by a parent or guardian.
· Couplers and chains required between all equipment. Drawbars are an acceptable alternative.
Steam Engine Operations
· All steam engines shall have a passing boiler test current within a year.
· Coal burning steam engines must have an ash pan. An ash dump area/facility between the tracks is available for use near the back steaming bays.
· Coal/Propane is not available onsite.
Railroad Stats & Specifications
· Track Gauge: 7 1/2”
· Total Mainline Length: Approximately 1 Mile
· Typical Circle Runtime: 12 Minutes
· Minimum Radius: 45 Feet
· Maximum Grade: 2%
Loading and Unloading Facilities
· Drive up/back up to transfer table.
· Type: Powered hydraulic life (1000 lb capacity)
· Transfer Table length: 9’ 11-1/2”
· Transfer Table height range: 17-1/4” to 41-1/4”
Steaming & Maintenance Bay Facilities
· Bay Count: 6 (2 front w/transfer table, 4 back w/turntable)
· Bays are not covered. Feel free to bring your own easy up tent.
· Bays have electricity and water (non potable) service. Several bays have compressed air.
Visitor Amenities
· Restrooms (porta potties) are available onsite. Showers are not available onsite.
· Parking is available onsite. Cargo trailer parking and trailer overnight parking during meets is available onsite.
· RV/Tent camping is available. Please contact the meet coordinator for more specific details. Event management will provide specific tent setup and RV parking locations.
· RV amenity connections (Power, water, sewer) are not available onsite.
· Snacks/Beverages are typically not available unless noted in specific meet event details. Local fast food restaurants are available within 10 miles.
· No smoking or vaping is allowed on the property.
· No alcoholic beverages are allowed on the property without permission from the Train Master.
